Scheme of Service in Ghana Education Service

Scheme of Service refers to the PROGRESSION LEVELS or GRADES that a teacher may attain during the service period!!!

The LEVELS or GRADES are as follows:

1. Director-General
2. Deputy Director-General
3. Director I
4. Director II
5. Deputy Director
6. Assistant Director I
7. Assistant Director II
8. Principal Superintendent
9. Senior Superintendent I
10. Senior Superintendent II
11. Superintendent I
12. Superintendent II

Period for eligibility for promotion to the next grade if four (4) years!

University graduates enter the service on Principal Superintendent grade

Take note,

If you came from college with diploma/degree and enter the service at Senior Superintendent
/Principal Superintendent, it would take you 40 and 32 years RESPECTIVELY to reach the grade of Director General!!

Same applies to graduates from University, 32 years!!!

That is if your promotion have not been witch haunted by the System!!

Terminal point are as follows:

1. Non-graduate professional (cert ‘A’) ends at Assistant Director 1

2. Diploma/ HND professional (cert ‘A’) ends at Deputy Director

3. Non-professional graduate/diplomate ends at Deputy Director

4. Graduate professional can progress as far as to Director-General!!

Now, my question is,

1. Is Dr. Eric Nkansah a professional teacher, taken into consideration his professional profile so far?”

2. Does it mean out of over 300,000 population of professional teachers in the Ghanaian Educational sector, not even one teacher was able to attain the rank through the grades to be made the DG of GES to merit the appointment as such?”

3. Is appointing a non-professional to such SENSITIVELY HIGH RANKING GRADE in the GES, not DEMORALIZING and DISINSENTIVE to the teaching profession?

4. Can the Ghana Armed Forces appoint a teacher as a Commander of the Armed Forces?

5. Can the police appoint a teacher as the IGP?

6. Can the Ghana Commerical Bank appoint any Teacher to be even their branch manager?

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

You see, I saw some renowned Educationist and a section of Teacher Unions supporting this ROT, for whatever reason, I don’t know!

Some advancing the argument that he thought in the university for some years.

Fine,

But as what?

A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER or a NON PROFESSIONAL TEACHER in his field of PROFESSIONAL STUDIES!

๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

I am wondering,

๐Ÿค”Is that why many teachers have been failed during promotion interviews deliberately over the years.

๐Ÿค”Is that why many teachers have been failed during the promotional aptitude exams, deliberately ever since its inception.

๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”Just to create space for the few we want to put there based on their POLITICAL affiliations!!?

๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

If this Rot, doesn’t disturb you as a PROFESSIONAL TEACHER in the SERVICE then you are part of the PROBLEM!!!

I support Teacher Unions impending strike on the appointment of DR. NKANSAH as the DG of GES!!!

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

Dr. Nkansah as DG of GES must Go!!!

We have the men, but this are not the men we are looking for!!!

๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

POLITICISATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN GHANA, IS THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE DOWNWARD SLOPING TREND ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE SO FAR!!!

And it would be worse if measures are not taken now to restore that high performance!!
