The 62nd Annual National Conference of the Ghana Muslim Mission was held on Sunday, 1st January 2023, at the Ghana Muslim Mission Senior High School in Beposo, Ashanti Region.


The conference was attended by several dignitaries, including the Ag. Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah, and the National Chairman of the Mission, Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu.


The theme of the conference was “Holistic Education, the Key to the Development of Islam and Ghana”. During his address, Dr Nkansah commended the Ghana Muslim Mission for their contributions to the education sector and assured the Mission of the government’s continued support for the progress of their schools.


Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu praised the Free SHS programme, which he said had provided access to quality and equitable education for many children from the Muslim community.

He emphasized the importance of empowering young people with the skills they need to succeed in life.


Other dignitaries in attendance included the Omanhene of the Beposo Traditional Council, Nana Boamah Kwabi IV; the Member of Parliament for Nsuta, Kwamang, Beposo constituency, Hon. Adelaide Ntim; the National Imam of Ghana Muslim Mission, Sheikh Haruna Nkansah Agyekum; the Executive Secretary of the Baraka Policy Institute, Dr Zagoon Haroun Saeed; and the Ashanti Regional Imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumeen Haroun.


The conference also aimed to raise funds to support the construction of lecture rooms and a 120-bed dormitory for the Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education in Beposo.
