GES has released a press statement condemning the headline of a news article on mybyonline.com which says ‘GES REVIEWING FREE SHS TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH PARENTS CAN PAY – PROF OPOKU-AMANKWA.’
According to GES, the headline is misleading and does not reflect the importance of the story.

The headline is misleading and does not reflect the import of the story.
For the avoidance of doubt the GES is not undertaking any review of the FSHS. Any such review of the FSHS Policy is the sole prerogative of the President and the govemment.
The Ghana Education Service is a government Agency and does not formulate or initiate review of policies. As an Agency, the GES implements govemment policies and programmes in pre-tertiary education
