There will be no end of second term examination for basic school students within the Central Region of Ghana for the 2022 academic year.
The Ghana Education Service (Central Regional Education Directorate) has in a memo directed that there shall be no end-of-term exams for Kindergarten to JHS 2 students for the second term of the 2022 Academic year.
According to the memo, the Central Regional Education Directorate told teachers that this measure was necessary because it has been observed that most schools do not conduct regular weekly class tests to assess pupils’ performances.
The directorate again said that most schools wait until the end of the term to conduct end of term examination.
The directorate, therefore, directs that;
a) Regular Class Tests, assignments, class exercises, homework, project work etc be conducted to assess pupils’ performance.
b) For Basic 1 to JHS 2, the printing of end of term examination should be done only at the end of the year. There should be no printing this second term.
c) Mock examinations for JHS 3 pupils are allowed to continue.
